Attend VDOT Presentation

Albemarle County invited VDOT to present and inform the community on a proposed solution to the traffic back-up on 601 exit ramp onto Old Garth Road. This project will implement improvements in the form of a VDOT termed "Triangleabout". A group of concerned citizens oppose this "$600,000 band-aid" and call for regional, longer term strategies to address this issue, the hazards of Old Ivy Road and the exit 118B acceleration lanes from Ivy Road onto the bypass as well as the necessary improvements needed on Ivy Road west of Old Garth. Read about the VDOT plan and our opposition statement (with suggestions).

Voice your concerns at the session on February 22, 2022, 6:00-7:30 pm at Lane Auditorium, 401 McIntire Road. If you cannot attend in person, here are some other options to voice your opinion or concerns:

1. Contact your supervisors now. The email for all six supervisors: bos@albemarle.org. Please be sure to identify your neighborhood and address as VDOT will not move forward with this plan with out a BOS vote of approval.
